Sylvan Johnson was born in Berlin, Germany and was raised in Cedar City, Utah. He completed his undergraduate work at Utah Valley University with a Bachelors of Exercise Science degree. Upon graduation, he attended Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Sylvan first became interested in physical therapy during his high school years. Sylvan experienced the profession as he worked through the rehabilitation process from his own sports injuries and later worked as an aide to the therapists. Sylvan wanted to become a physical therapist because he was fascinated with how the human body works. He also wanted to help others achieve their goals as his therapist helped him achieve his. As a former collegiate wrestler, Sylvan particularly enjoys treating athletes.
Sylvan and his wife Elizabeth are parents of a spunky daughter, Mercedez, who is named after the Mercedes-Bens Superdome, the home of the New Orleans Saints football team. When not at the clinic, Sylvan enjoys hiking, cheering for the Saints and Rockies, as well as participating in any kind of sport, particularly softball and wrestling.
